Corporate Membership

Membership of ITI is open not just to individual freelance members but also to corporate members. ITI has a strong community of corporate members who are represented on the ITI council.

Requirements for the various types of Corporate Member:

Translation Company

Any business operating to supply translations or interpreting services

1.

employment of a member of the Institute.

2.

at least three years’ operation in eligible form.

3.

two references from clients.

4.

three references from freelance translators, of whom at least one is a qualified member of the Institute (MITI/FITI).

5.

undertaking to uphold the ITI Code of Conduct;

6.

declare and abide by their terms of business for suppliers.

Educational Institution

An Institution of higher education providing courses relevant to professional translation or interpreting is eligible for admission as an educational institution if it has been in continuous existence for at least five years.

Government department/international organisation

Any public or non-profit making authority or body (whether international, or other), which shows evidence of interest in translation or interpreting as a profession.

Industrial/commercial undertaking (Business)

Any company, which uses translation or interpreting, services, or supplies goods or services relevant to professional work as a translator or interpreter.

Note to all Corporate Member applicants::

The non-refundable application fee of £75.00 + VAT should accompany every new Corporate membership application.

Translation Company applicants are required to sign the Institute's Code of Conduct for Corporate Members.
