Aletta Stevens MITI MIL is a freelance Dutch mother tongue translator with a degree in English Language from the University of Sheffield. She is a founder member of ITI and has translated a wide variety of subjects, including medical. She also translates into English and her translation of the biography of Dutch film director Paul Verhoeven was published by Faber. Aletta has been a frequent contributor to ITI Bulletin and ran a column in ITI’s first newsletter. She is the author of Looking for Uncle Joop (2017), published in Dutch as Het Tweede Schot, and her latest book is The Remarkable Journey of Mr Prins. You can email her on [email protected].

Meritha Paul-van Voorden AITI

Meritha Paul-van Voorden is a Dutch freelance translator who grew up in the Netherlands, where she studied Art and Culture Sciences at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. In 2001 she relocated to England and completed her second Masters degree in Translation Theory and Practice at University College London. She subsequently lectured part-time MA Translation students at London Metropolitan University. After a five-year interruption in Switzerland, where she taught Dutch Language and culture at the University of Basel, she moved back to England and has been living in London since January 2019. Besides being a published translator and columnist, she currently teaches both in a (online) classroom setting and on a one-on-one basis.
