It's countdown to the Languages: MK Show: 8 July

ITI is co-organising the Languages: MK Show taking place at the Betty Boothroyd Library, Open University, Milton Keynes on Saturday 8 July 10.00 – 15.30.

It’s a must for those interested in language learning, teaching, technology or working as a translator or interpreter – and it’s free.

Languages:MK is a project dedicated to promoting Milton Keynes as a city of languages, and to facilitate language learning and support for our businesses and our community.

The show will provide the opportunity to:

  • explore language learning and teaching technologies
  • practise speaking a variety of languages in the Language Café area
  • watch live cultural performances from local schools
  • discover the options for language learning in the Milton Keynes area
  • find out more about translating and interpreting
  • talk to local business partners about the benefits of language learning
  • participate in a number of free sessions

Other organisers are:

Community Learning MK who will be providing language taster sessions in a broad selection of languages, including Japanese, BSL, Lipreading, Polish, Greek, Arabic, Hungarian, Slovak, Chinese as well as German, French, Italian and English as a second language (ESOL).

The Open University who will offer a series of professional development sessions for language teachers such as Learning to speak languages with others online, Chinese characters and Creative Translation and Translating Creations.

Tickets booked in advance in advance and presented at the event will be entered into a prize draw to win £50 gift voucher.
