ITI trends e-book now available

ITI has published its 2018 e-book on trends in translation and interpreting.

Blue compass on mapITI's latest trends e-book brings together a cross-section of experts offering their thoughts on important trends in the sector and suggesting strategies practitioners  need to employ to help them deal with today’s challenges.

The publication provides perspectives from academia, major institutions, freelance translators and interpreters across a range of languages and specialisations and technology thought leaders.

Several of the contributors this year are among the most popular from the Institute's ITI Stars initiative of 2017 - in which individuals nominated and 'liked' the practitioners they admired most in the sector.

This year's contributors are:

Dr Svetlana Carsten: Honorary Fellow in Translation Studies at the University of Leeds

Alexander Drechsel: conference interpreter for the EC and well-known podcaster

Richard Lackey: MITI who has done much to promote the concept of co-working

Rytis Martikonis: Director-General, Directorate-General for Translation at the European Commission

Justine Mason: senior lecturer in mental health and wellbeing at Wrexham and Glyndwyr University

Dr Joss Moorkens: Assistant Professor at the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies, Dublin University

Professor Jemina Napier:  Professor and Chair of Intercultural Communication, Herriot-Watt University

Jesper Sandberg: founder of Sandberg Translation Partners Ltd
