ITI West Midlands Regional Group - Profile

The ITI West Midlands Regional Group tell us about themselves in this profile

Tell us about the West Midlands Regional Group

As the name suggests, we are the regional group for the West Midlands area and we have approximately 45 members. We meet up about 4 times a year and we also have an online group.

What is the aim of the group?

To provide opportunities for translators, interpreters, students and others interested in translation and interpreting in the West Midlands to meet and attend affordable professional and social events.

What sort of events do you organise?

We organise a variety of social events, walks and professional events. For example, at a recent Meet & Greet event we got together in a private room at the Soloman Cutler on Broad Street in Birmingham. Local translators and interpreters and translation students and staff from the University of Birmingham and Aston University spent a relaxed evening chatting, catching up with friends and colleagues and meeting new people.

Why should I join?

Membership gives you access to the WMG e-group, where you can post any queries related to translation and interpreting. You can also come along to our free group walks, get discounts on West Midlands Group professional events and have access to our mentoring scheme.
