ITI Western Regional Group - Profile

The ITI Western Regional Group tell us about themselves in this profile

Tell us about the Western Regional Group

We are the regional group for the west of the country and have over 80 members. We meet up face-to-face at least once a month and we also have an active online presence.

What is the aim of the group?

To promote discussion among local translators and interpreters in friendly, relaxed settings as well to as strengthen members’ skills through CPD events.

What sort of events do you organise?

We organise social events, as well as CPD events. One recent event attracted 27 members, where everyone got a chance to catch up, mingle, learn about what other WRG members had been up to professionally, and also discuss trending industry topics. Participants got to see our 2018 ITI award (for best initiative), browse examples of members’ work on a Showcase Your Work table, enjoy an illustrated talk about one member’s new book, and learn about how an accounting package could save translators/interpreters a lot of time.

Why should I join?

By joining you will get to know local translators and interpreters from our varied membership. You can also enjoy translator/interpreter-focused CPD and other social events.
