Inviting contributions to the next issue of Ignition

Would you like to contribute to the spring issue of IgnITIon – ITI’s online magazine for students and those who have recently started a career in translation or interpreting?

We had a great response to the last call-out for articles, and the autumn issue was the biggest and best ever. Help us to make the next issue just as good.

One of the reasons that IgnITIon is so special is that most of the articles are also written by people who are studying and/or at a very early stage in their career. So they have up-to-the-minute insights and advice on strategies that have helped them when starting out.

You can view the latest edition of IgnITIon here.

Here are some examples of  the types of articles we would be interested in:

* Breakthrough: getting a job using languages, how to get past the no experience conundrum, how you got an internship
* Studies: something about your studies, university or network that has been particularly useful to you. Research you have done that you feel would be of interest to others starting out in their career
*Mentoring: how mentoring has helped you
* Freelance success: how you won freelance work
* Market focus: reports on specific aspects of of translation and interpreting e.g. subtitles, voiceovers, translation memory
* My life: personal story of how you got into languages and how you want to progress
* Review: a review of a piece of translated fiction, subtitled film

Articles will be approximately 350 words in length, in English.

Please send your ideas to communications@iti.org.uk
