Are you an aspiring or established legal translator working from Spanish into English or English into Spanish? Keen to boost your knowledge about the process of litigation in Spain and in England and Wales as well as your translation skills in this field?

This workshop, delivered in both Spanish and English, aims to provide:

  • a comparison between the two jurisdictions
  • an overview of pre-litigation processes and procedures for instituting legal proceedings under civil, criminal and administrative law
  • an explanation of the names and functions of the various courts and legal professionals involved in the litigation process

In the afternoon, attendees will work in language groups to discuss the key translation issues arising in typical legal documents such as court judgments and explore different strategies to overcome those challenges.

Speakers
