An interactive workshop was at the University of Westminster on Friday 3 November 2017, 9.30-16.00

During this interactive workshop, you will:

  • Review the basics of subtitling, including technical and linguistic constraints and semiotics.
  • Refresh your knowledge on how to use subtitling software.
  • Become acquainted with the new features of WinCAPS Q-Lite, a state-of-the-art subtitling software.
  • Practise hands-on using video material in your language pair.
  • Discuss advanced subtitling issues with the tutor and your peers. Issues include the translation of cultural references, obscene language, humour and dialect.
