ITI North East Regional Group

Tell us about the North East Regional Group

The ITI North-East-Regional Group connects translators and interpreters at all stages of their careers, from students to seasoned professionals.

What sort of events do you organise?

Our professional activities have included talks, round-table discussions, co-working sessions, workshops with other regional groups and outreach events with students of local universities. Our social calendar usually features an annual picnic and an occasionally lucky pub quiz team, as well as walks and social evenings. We also keep members informed of national ITI developments and other local language-related events.

We are flexible to the interests of our group and are very keen to back new initiatives coming from our members.

Why should I join?

While rewarding, working with languages can occasionally be an isolated business; we exist to help you share the mixture of joy, rage and professional expertise that make a good translator/interpreter!

This group is run independently of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), the UK’s only dedicated association for practising translation and interpreting professionals. Membership of this group does not cover membership of ITI. Click here If you would like further information on how to become an ITI member.

Find a Professional

To find a Professional Translator, Interpreter or Language Service Provider please click here. ITI provides a free search facility, to help you find a translator, interpreter or language services business that can best help you with your professional language requirements.

Here you can search on a number of criteria, such as language pair or pair (e.g. German to English) subject matter (e.g. marketing, pharmaceutical, legal) or specific name of the individual or business.

All individual members listed on the ITI Directory search results are Qualified Members (MITI) or Fellows of ITI (FITI). This means that they have passed their ITI Translation or Interpreting Assessment in the given language pair.
