With translation relegated to a small part of school curricula, simultaneously professionalised and invisibilised, it becomes easy to frame it in terms of what we can do with it, rather than what it can do for us. In raising critical questions around language, representation and power, translation transcends traditional subject boundaries, enriching our understanding of the world and our position within it. This presentation draws on the work of Shadow Heroes to explore translation as an essential life skill.
