Translating cosmetics: Regulations, claims and classifications
An introduction to cosmetics regulation with Kamal Kaur, founder of The Cosmetic Regulator and MD of The Cosmetic Consultancy Ltd.
This 45-minute webinar followed by a 15-minute Q&A session will look at the following:
- What a cosmetic actually is - regulatory definition in the UK, EU and US
- An overview of other classifications - how a cosmetic can easily be a medicine/medical device/biocide by changing the wording
- An overview of the claims framework for cosmetics - what is a claim, how a claim should be supported, common criteria, guidance on specific claims
- Examples of claims/words not to use for cosmetics
- Product labelling - which elements are usually translated
- Resources - CTPA, etc.
