Join this conference to share research and professional experiences on the use and status of English in the Nordic countries and the impact of English on Nordic languages, cultures and societies. Topics include inclusivity, accessibility, gender neutrality, legislation and language policy.
In a panel on "Nordic Languages Interacting with English: Challenges and Changes" representatives of Nordic language councils gather for the first time to explore language policy and the evolving role of English in the Nordic countries and beyond.
This conference is the first in the Nordic region to unite researchers, translators, editors, linguists and other language professionals working with English. The aim is to strengthen connections and share best practices internationally.
The conference represents a collaborative effort between Kieliasiantuntijat (Language Experts), a Finnish trade union for people specialising in multilingual communication, and the Nordic Editors and Translators (NEaT), a community of English-language professionals from the Nordic countries and beyond.
Details of the conference programme and booking information can be found on the event website.
