We have all heard about the importance of specialization. One of the many ways to go about it is by attending subject-specific conferences. The catch? They are very different from the translation conferences we’re all used to.

ITI members Ana Carolina Ribeiro (WSET 2, for now!) and Simon Berrill (WSET 3) attended the 6th International Conference on the Language of Vinegrowing and Winemaking, and its Translation – the name is a handful, and so was the event!

In this talk for the ITI Food and Drinks Network, they’ll report on the conference, and will then go into detail about the differences between academic and translator events, and how to navigate the unusual environment and leave it feeling you belong.
