Coming to terms with the protein transition - Insights into novel protein and its battle for words
The protein transition is in full swing. While scientists, investors and producers in the novel protein space are aching to mitigate some of today’s most pressing problems – including the question of how to feed the growing world population – responses from traditional protein producers range from hesitant to openly defensive. This results in a debate that can quickly become politicised and polarised.
Novel protein copywriter and translator Kees Kranendonk sheds light on this exciting area of precision fermentation, cultivated meat and more. He gives insights into today’s types of novel protein, dispels a myth or two and provides advice for language professionals working in this field.
