People have been interpreting between different languages in religious meetings and events for millennia. But is church interpreting also a genuine market for conference and other interpreters? Does it require other skills? Is there any money in it? What are the different modes and technologies used?
We will be joined by three active church interpreters with different backgrounds and in different locations who will share their experiences in short presentations. These will then be followed by an ask-me-anything session to give participants the opportunity to find out more about the topic – or maybe even share their own experiences with interpreting in religious settings.
This meeting is open to participants of all faiths or no faith, even though the three speakers work in Christian settings.
