Starting at St Paul’s station, Roger Bone will guide us around one of the most interesting parts of London, visiting a number of pubs on the way.
We will hear stories about Smithfield Market, St Barts Hospital, Cock Lane, Snow Hill and its former Saracen’s Head Inn and Charterhouse Square.
Pubs: The Hand and Shears, Barts Hospital pub, on its original 1123 site; The Red Cow, a typical 1880s market pub; The Fox and Anchor, one of London’s finest Victorian Art Nouveau pubs, and The Lord Raglan, a recreated galleried pub where those able to stay on can eat supper.
