The idea takes its inspiration from the American tradition of town meetings, where people come together to discuss matters openly before any decisions are made. Ours is an open meeting where you can find out more about the motions members have proposed, ask questions and share your views before the AGM takes place.
The meeting is for discussion only. No motions are debated formally or put to a vote here — that happens at the AGM itself. Think of it as an opportunity to understand what's being proposed and why, to hear from one another, and to come to the AGM well informed.
As this is the first time we've held a meeting of this kind, we'd be especially glad to see you there, whether you have a settled view on the motions or simply want to listen and learn more.
