This year we're trying something new. Ahead of the AGM, we warmly invite members to join us for a town hall meeting.
The idea takes its inspiration from the American tradition of town meetings, where people come together to discuss matters openly before any decisions are made.
No member motions have been submitted for the AGM on 23 October but we would still warmly welcome the opportunity to talk to members about the future direction of the Institute. The Board has therefore agreed to repurpose the two town hall meetings, originally intended for the discussion of motions proposed by members, as an open forum. Members will be invited to suggest topics for discussion.
The town halls meetings are intended for discussion only. No motions will be debated formally or put to a vote, but we will carry forward ideas that will help us shape our strategic plans.
As this is the first time we've held a meeting of this kind, we'd be especially glad to see as many members as possible.
