This networking session, hosted by the ITI Parent Network and led by Hayley Wood, is open to anyone who might be interested in this topic, from those who have been through the experience and would like to share their wisdom, to those who are midway through it or have it coming up. Babies and pre-schoolers are of course welcome too!
The main topics we aim to cover are, broadly:
- Keeping in touch with colleagues/the profession
- Keeping in touch with clients (including how much to tell them about your situation)
- Maintaining your confidence/skills (especially after an extended period of parental leave)
- Coping with limited/irregular working hours (in terms of fitting in work, seeking new work, and setting business priorities)
- Work/life balance
- Self-care.
The aim is for this to be a safe space for people to share their experiences, and to vent if necessary!
It will not be recorded, but I will be aiming to take general notes for future reference and for those who can’t make it on the day.
