We are delighted to welcome Victor Prokofiev to speak about his career in languages and the law. Victor is a Russian-trained lawyer, as well as a linguist, with a solid business and finance background.
He spent years as a personal interpreter to Presidents Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, Russian Prime Minister Victor Chernomyrdin and Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze.
He has over forty years’ experience interpreting for the United Nations and for numerous Heads of State and Government. These include Joe Biden, Margaret Thatcher, John Major, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Rajiv Gandhi and Lee Kuan Yew.
He has also worked with senior government officials and business leaders, such as Henry Kissinger, James A. Baker III, George Shultz, Leon Brittan, and Lord (Jacob) Rothschild among others.
Victor will speak in Russian but will take questions in English or Russian (or French or Spanish).
