This announcement constitutes the 28 days’ advance notice of a General Meeting required by the Constitution of the ITI Russian Network.
RussNet will hold its General Meeting — the first in a number of years — on Monday 30 November.
Under the current Constitution, ‘Voting Members’ of RussNet are only those who are also members of the ITI (at any grade). However, all members of the Network (including ‘Friends’ and ‘Honorary Friends’) will be welcome to attend the Meeting and to contribute freely to the discussion.
Please make this date a priority in your diary and think about what you can offer your colleagues…
The Committee will ask the Meeting to approve significant changes to the Network’s Constitution and membership arrangements, which will then be put to all Voting Members in an online poll.
A copy of the proposed Constitution will be made available in the RussNet egroup in advance of the General Meeting, as will some brief explanatory papers.
The Committee will also propose that the Meeting discuss and approve the introduction of a membership fee from January 2027.
The General Meeting should appoint additional Committee members — at the very least, a new Deputy Coordinator. Please send expressions of interest and any questions about this to the Network Coordinator, Karen George ([email protected]).
If you are a member of the Russian Network but are not signed up to the egroup, please contact the Coordinator in order to receive background documents directly.
The General Meeting will be held online, and advance registration is required. A full Agenda will be provided to all members who register to attend.
The Meeting will start at 2pm and is expected to last about 1 hour 15 minutes.
It will be preceded by a free, relaxed late morning/lunchtime social event, with an open invitation to all our ITI and other colleagues. This will be advertised separately in the next few weeks.
