Russian conversation - Show & Tell |
Bring an Item with a Russian Story The Russian Network would like to invite all members of the Network and anyone else who is interested to another free online meet-up, to be held on Friday 31 October. And this time, it’s over to you… Do you have an object that carries with it a piece of Russian culture, history or memory? A book, a photo, a souvenir, a family heirloom or even something quirky you found on a trip? If so, come along to RussNet’s Show & Tell session! Bring one small item that has a Russian story behind it – and be ready to share that story with the group. It could be: - something from your family’s past - a travel souvenir with a funny or meaningful memory - an everyday object that says something about Russian life - or even a mystery item you’d like others to help interpret! Conversation will be entirely in Russian, so it would be great if you can speak Russian to a relatively good level. However, the atmosphere will be relaxed, so speakers of any level are welcome: this is a space to encourage people to speak and overcome the fear… With the Network’s regular host, Natalia Karlina, this session will offer a light, fun way to practice storytelling, learn cultural tidbits and get to know each other better. No pressure – just share what makes your item special to you. Don’t have an item handy? No problem – you can find an image of an object that you associate with Russia and explain why. Or simply come listen, ask questions, and enjoy the stories! If you are interested, please email Natalia, who will send you a reminder and the joining link a couple of days before the event. |
