Lucie Gallen
Lucie is a state-certified translator (staatlich geprüfte Übersetzerin) working from German into English. She began her translation career working in-house for an agency specialising in sewing machines, before graduating to Audi. Apparently that wasn't enough horsepower, because she now also translates rocket science.
With over twenty years of experience, she has been specialising in cycling translation for the past six years, and holds a bike mechanic's qualification to prove she means it. Her cycling clients have included icTrainer, a German virtual cycling app, Winora, Conway, and Rondo, the Polish brand best known for the Ratt. Outside work, she races in the regional cyclo-cross league, or simply heads out on the bike for the freedom of it – though she has strong opinions about the state of the roads.
Robert Paulig
Robert is a certified translator from Chemnitz, Germany, working from English and French into German. He started out at a translation agency
in New Zealand, then worked for a translation and marketing agency in Germany before going fully freelance a couple of years ago, specialising mainly in sports.
His work spans from football and biathlon to cycling and trail running, and everything in between. He is entrusted with a variety of topics and formats, from rule book updates and athlete stories to subtitles and creative marketing campaigns for the latest outdoor products. When he is not creating compelling copy for major international sports bodies or renowned sports brands, he can be found supporting his local football team at the stadium, riding his road bike, running on roads or trails, enjoying the snow, or swimming lengths in the pool.
