In July the West Midlands Translators’ group will be getting together to explore some local heritage and local dialects at the Black Country Living Museum.

At the site of the museum in Dudley you can explore over forty carefully reconstructed shops, houses, and industrial areas across 26 landscaped acres. Meet friendly historic characters who’ll tell you what it was like to live and work (and spake) during the Industrial Revolution and beyond.

Opening hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. we’re planning to meet as a group at 12 noon in front of the house of the late grandfather (and chainmaker) of our chair Sarah Letza – you’ll find it at no. 40 on the sites interactive map.
