Being a freelance linguist involves wearing many different hats. Join the Yorkshire Regional Group for this summer webinar.

The speaker will be Sue Leschen, a translator, interpreter, mentor and non-practising solicitor; director of Avocate Legal and Commercial French Interpreting and Translation Services. She will talk about something we need to consider as freelancers: Protecting our (hard earned) income.

Financial security is not a given – it has to be both planned and managed throughout our working lives. In this workshop the Yorkshire Regional Group will consider devices such as short payment terms, hefty deposits and adequate insurance against rainy days and ever-increasing cyber fraud. They will also discuss how to both maximise earning time and access high paying jobs as well as how to protect your and your families' financial futures with pensions, savings and inheritance planning.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday 23rd July from 6pm to 7pm via Zoom. The presentation will be recorded and shared with the participants.
