Over the course of my MA and several years working in-house for a leading language service provider, I honed my skills as a translator, editor and subtitler and developed a unique combination of specialisms: technical and marketing. Though these specialisms may seem like opposites, they capture my personality accurately - on the one hand, a perfectionist focused on precision and detail; on the other hand, an artist with a knack for flair and creativity. What’s more, a lot of jobs require a bit of both! This dual perspective can be really beneficial if your text falls into both camps - a press release about sensors, for example. However, I’m equally happy with jobs that sit squarely at one end of the spectrum.
