Mrs Marian Dougan MITI
My specialisms are: banking, finance, legal, competition and energy policy, foreign affairs and EU issues. I worked at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt for four years, honing my experience in translating banking supervision and monetary policy texts and editing complex texts written by non-English speakers. A key skill is to render complex Italian or French policy, regulatory and legislative texts in English that’s clear, concise and easy for international readers to understand.
Having lived in Italy for over 20 years, working as a translator and as a policy analyst in the Economic and Commercial Department of the British Embassy in Rome, I know the country and its institutions very well indeed. Here in the UK, I have taught Translation Methodology and Master Classes on Translating for the Web as part of Glasgow University’s MSc in Translation Studies.
