Translation slam: Two translators searching for the right key
The Media, Arts and Tourism (MAT) Network look forward to you joining them for a lively and interactive translation slam. During a fascinating 90-minute session, Alison Hindley, the moderator, will challenge slammers Bronwen Davies and Katy Fowler as they reveal, explain and defend their respective versions.
Before the event, all attendees will receive the source text which will be in German for translation into English, giving participants the opportunity to form their own views and translation solutions.
Whether you work in the arts, translate creative content or are simply curious about the decision-making process behind an effective translation, this event offers a rare opportunity to compare approaches, test your own instincts and join the debate.
