ALL are welcome to a relaxed, free Zoom event to mark this traditional celebration.

You need not be an ITI Russian Network member or speak Russian to attend, as the main language of the event will be English.

What to expect:

  • Our traditional quiz (again with prizes!)
  • Winter life in Siberia: a short presentation
  • The chance to join a 'Russian conversation zone'
  • Patents and Standards: formalities and future careers – an informal discussion led by RussNet member, Eyvor Fogarty

After a brief introduction to patents in general and in Imperial Russia in particular, Eyvor will provide discussion points for all participants, looking at how International Standards can offer guidance to careers in uncertain times.

This could include material from any language pairs that participants would like to introduce – so please bring your experiences, anecdotes and questions! Any Russian-language examples will be transliterated and translated into English.

  • Where are ITI networks going? A general discussion…

What are our networks for? What do we love and hate about them? And, against the background of more and more translators/interpreters leaving the profession, can networks help to sustain interest in languages?

Bring a cup or glass of something to celebrate with us!
