Learn about the theory and practice of subtitling to help you develop it as a specialism.
If you are interested in subtitling as a specialism but have little or no knowledge of the area, this two-part course will provide you with a practical introduction to help you get started.
You will learn about:
- The different types and uses of subtitles
- The basic linguistic and technical rules of subtitling
- Some of the translation issues faced by subtitlers when translating
- How to work with a free subtitling package to produce basic subtitles.
This will include hands-on exercises.
