Mrs Hiba Bayyat MITI
I am a dedicated, native bilingual and bicultural professional, fluent in English and Arabic, with over a decade of experience navigating both languages and cultures with accuracy, nuance, and sensitivity in high-stakes environments.
As a CIOL Chartered Linguist, DPSI (English Law) qualified, NRPSI registered, and ISO qualified Translator and Transcreator with an MA in Translation, I offer a diverse and multidisciplinary skill set. I am also a qualified Tutor, Trainer, and Assessor for interpreters and translators, hold CELTA and TEFL certifications, and was previously an accredited Immigration and Asylum Caseworker. This background continues to inform my legal interpreting work today.
My professional experience spans legal, public service, marketing, education, and nonprofit sectors. I have developed strong expertise in transcreation and cross-cultural content adaptation, with a particular interest in marketing for Arabic-speaking audiences. I value clarity, context, and cultural nuance in everything I do.
In parallel, I am an ADHD advocate, coach in training, and independent researcher exploring the intersection of neurodivergence and language work. I run two initiatives: Legal Insights, which makes complex legal information more accessible to interpreters and linguists, and The ADHD Linguist, where I share my lived experience and ongoing research.
I am also the founder of The Linguists Café UK (TLC), an online community for interpreters and translators at all stages of their career. TLC provides a space for connection, shared resources, and peer support, with a focus on inclusivity and belonging.
My MA dissertation, awarded with distinction, explored the Arabic translation of humour and wordplay in children’s literature. This reflects my ongoing commitment to creativity, language, and meaningful engagement across cultures.
