ITI West Regional Group AGM

ITI's Western Regional Group held its annual Members' Day at the lovely Bath and County Club in central Bath on Saturday 15 November. This is usually a full-day event combining a CPD session, our AGM and discussions about what members would like to see from the group in the coming year with more informal networking (including a quiz or two!)

Firstly, Sara Witham of Evil Empire, a marketing agency based in Swindon, led a fun and insightful workshop on how to plan and launch a marketing campaign, to help focus our efforts on achieving our business goals. Then, we enjoyed lunch at the Giggling Squid Thai restaurant before kicking off the afternoon with our AGM, chaired by our Coordinator, Becca George. Membership Secretary Lindsey Sidebottom and Treasurer Amanda Merbis-Kirk presented the membership and accounts reports respectively and Alison Hindley was officially elected as our Social Media Officer. We ended the day with networking over a tea break and a couple of fun quizzes: Gill Barringer hosted her Balderdash quiz — now a classic feature of our Members’ Day events — before our Events Officer, Stephanie Martinez-Hill, tested our understanding of foreign idioms.

Other elements we include for our Members’ Day are a book and DVD swap table as well as a business card and portfolio table. Here, members were invited to bring in a portfolio page for others to learn more about the services they offer. There was also a lot of wonderful cake and biscuits throughout the day, culminating in drinks at the nearby Hall and Woodhouse pub, where our WRG Bath socials are usually held.

Thank you to all the members who joined us. We hope everyone found it an enjoyable and useful day. We look forward to seeing what the New Year holds for the WRG!
