In May 2024, ITI launched the Tickford Project, which was tasked with looking at the Standard Translation Assessment that members of ITI are asked to undertake in order to become Qualified (MITI). Following the results of the Tickford Project, and other external factors, ITI took the decision to redevelop the Standard Translation Assessment into the new Translation Portfolio Assessment (TPA). Based on the New and Small Language Groups (NSLG) Assessment ITI has been running for the last decade, the TPA is designed to be more inclusive and accessible to all members, whatever their language pairings. We hope that by restructuring the Assessment, more members will take the steps to get their MITI Qualified status and enjoy the benefits of this level of acumen.
· Cover what the criteria for the new Translation Portfolio Assessment are
· Explain how members can apply
· Open the session up to any questions members have on the new assessment
· An Associate or Junior Associate who is looking to take the MITI assessment in the near future
· An MITI looking to add a second language pairing
