1 June 2023
11am – 12pm BST
Looking after our mental health and wellbeing has never been more important, but how can you practically do this when working as a freelancer and without an employer to support you? In this webinar, translator and post-graduate student in psychology, Lydia Marquardt, will provide techniques and skills to aid and sustain your wellbeing.
- Provide an understanding of the domains and aspects of professional wellbeing, specifically in the context of being a freelance linguist
- Explore research and draw on experiences to create a model of professional wellbeing
- Develop a compass that can be used not just for self-care but also for business development and personal and professional goal setting
- Explore some basic skills freelance linguists can develop to feel more confident about supporting and sustaining their wellbeing in the face of difficulties and challenges
The webinar will draw on evidence-based and established interventions to promote resilience, self-confidence and life satisfaction. It is suitable for linguists at any point in their career as well as those considering a freelance career.
