I’m a full-time freelance translator based in Italy with a specialism in art, design and architecture, particularly 20th-century and contemporary Italian design. I hold MAs in Translation (University of Bristol) and European Studies (University of Wales). Over the past decade, I’ve translated more than 120 books and exhibition catalogues for major cultural institutions such as the Triennale di Milano, MART, MAXXI, the Politecnico di Milano and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Alongside my main focus, I regularly translate books for children. A recent highlight is my English version of Se fossi Ugo, the original Italian edition of which won the Premio Andersen 2025, Italy’s most prestigious prize for children’s publishing. I have also translated Fausto Gilberti’s series of illustrated biographies of modern artists, including Duchamp, Abramović, Fontana and Kusama.

I have a strong background in food and drink translation. My master’s dissertation explored the challenges of translating culinary texts, and I’ve completed the first two levels of the AIS sommelier training. This expertise means I can translate wine lists, cookbooks and marketing materials with the accuracy and cultural sensitivity they demand.

I also work in history and cultural heritage, translating non-fiction on architecture during the Fascist period and broader studies of Italian history, politics and visual culture.
