Online training for when you're starting out
Listen to three separate online sessions on Saturday 17 October to discover what you need to do to take your first steps as a professional translator or interpreter and successfully launch your new career.
You are able to register for 1, 2 or 3 sessions. ITI members can register for all 3 sessions for free. ITI non-members are charged £12 per session.
Booking a place you will also give you access to the recording as each session will be recorded and available for you to listen to afterwards if you are unable to attend the live session.
Non-members - claim back your SWATI fees if you join ITI by the end of October 2020.

Katharina Wawrzon-Stewart MITI
Katharina Wawrzon-Stewart (or simply Kasia) is a London-based conference and public service interpreter, and translator. Her language combination is German (A), Polish (A) and English (B). She was born in Poland, grew up in Germany and has been living, studying, and working in the UK since 1995. Her main areas of expertise in conference interpreting are migration and asylum, political affairs, business, medicine, and European Works Councils. She provides her interpreting services both in person and remotely. Katharina is a full member of the ITI, the NRPSI, a junior member of the German VKD and an AIIC pre-candidate.

Anna Ware
Clear Voice Interpreting Services is a language service provider that specialises in telephone interpreting and face to face appointments. As a social enterprise, 100% of our profits go to supporting asylum seekers and victims of trafficking.
Anna Ware joined Clear Voice Interpreting Services as the Director 18 months ago. Coming from a varied career in business, local authorities and charities, she has been focused on growing the business into new areas and introducing new technology to better serve clients and interpreters.

Joanna Waller
Joanna Waller has been a freelance translator for well over 30 years. She is an ITI Fellow and chartered linguist, working from French, Spanish and Italian into English. Specialising in technical subjects (engineering, telecoms, IT) to earn a living, but with another life as a volunteer in international organisations committed to helping people in need, she has also worked for free translating and teaching, and thus acquired another area of expertise in development, aid, civil society and human rights, leading to paid work for a number of clients in these fields.
Allison Spangler
Surrey Translation Bureau (STB) is a multi award-winning independent translation agency with over 35 years’ experience and a diverse range of clients. We provide our clients with high-quality, specialised translations into most world languages. In-house, we have a multi-lingual, experienced and award-winning Project Management team and a small, but experienced team of translators and reviewers. STB is independently certificated to European standard ISO17100:2015, which sets out the requirements for the provision of quality services by translation service providers. We also hold BS EN ISO 9001:2015 certification for customer satisfaction and quality management.
Allison as been working at STB since September 2014. She studied International Business and Spanish at James Madison University in Virginia, USA, which included a semester at the University of Salamanca in Spain. She then went on to complete an MSc in Translation Studies and Professional Practice at the University of Glasgow. As Head of Resource Management, her job is to recruit and support our freelance translators as well as our in-house translation team.
Nicholas Nicou

Nathalie Reis is an experienced English to French translator, transcreator and copywriter, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, an Associate of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and a Member of the Society of Authors.
She specialises in the following fields:
- Lifestyle and creative industries, such as art, culture, fashion, beauty, travel, wellness and children’s fiction.
- International development and humanitarian affairs, with a focus on human rights, women and children’ health.
