Online training for when you're starting out

Listen to three separate online sessions on Saturday 17 October to discover what you need to do to take your first steps as a professional translator or interpreter and successfully launch your new career.

You are able to register for 1, 2 or 3 sessions. ITI members can register for all 3 sessions for free. ITI non-members are charged £12 per session.  

Booking a place you will also give you access to the recording as each session will be recorded and available for you to listen to afterwards if you are unable to attend the live session.

Non-members - claim back your SWATI fees if you join ITI by the end of October 2020.

Session 2 
Session 2 | 29 January | 09:30am - 12:30pm

Clinic

  • CVs and questions to be submitted ahead of the session. 
  • Panel review of participant CVs. The panel will work through as many as they can during the live session, if for any reason they run out of time, a member of the panel will provide individual feedback to the participant within 7 days of the session. Participants will be required to give permission for their CVs to be reviewed live by the panel.

Session 3 | 12:00pm - 1:00pm BST

Working in the profession

  • Gaining experience as a translator working pro bono
  • Working for an agency (oncall)
  • Ways of working: freelance, in-house, generalist or specialist work
