Dr Awadalkareem Alhassan MITI
I hold an MA and PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics and TESOL at Dhofar University in the Sultanate of Oman. I have been in higher education sector for more than 15 years. Throughout my teaching career, I have designed, taught and assessed a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including translation theory, pedagogy and translator education and professional development. Being an Arabic and English bilingual speaker with experience and expertise in the field of language education, I became interested in translation as a field of research, pedagogy and practice. In addition to my translation teaching experience, I have also published papers on translation pedagogy in peer-reviewed journals. I have been practicing translation as a freelancer for several years. I have always been passionate about and heavily engaged in language education and continuing professional development.
