German-English translator specialising in finance, with 27 years’ experience. After 7 years as an in-house translator in Germany, including 5 years at a bank in Düsseldorf, I have been a freelance translator in the UK since 2005. Most of my work is for clients in the German & Swiss financial sector and my specialist areas include: financial markets (particularly bond research), macroeconomics, investment funds, equity & credit analysis and asset-backed securities. I am also experienced in translating general business, IT, marketing, HR, energy, sustainable fashion and sustainability texts.

I work closely with Andrew Hayes, who is also a Qualified Member of ITI.

I attended the Bristol Translates Summer School in literary translation in July 2021 and obtained the DELE C1 diploma in Spanish in September 2022. I also have RWS certification in machine translation post-editing. When not translating, my interests include flamenco dancing, Pilates, music, cinema, art and literature. I also have broad knowledge of the malt whisky and sherry industries, having completed the Scotch Whisky Trail Certificate course at the Scotch Whisky Academy in Glasgow and a Language of Sherry course in Spanish in Jerez de la Frontera.
