- Numerous interpreting assignments undertaken in relation to cultural activities in Japan, as well as in various medical industrial and clinical settings in the United Kingdom (including during live surgical procedures, perinatal consultations, oncology and cancer treatment related hospital visits, medical device and product explanatory meetings, etc.).
- Lived and worked in various regions of Japan as a professional linguist (language teaching, translating, and interpreting) from 2002 to 2008, and has since made annual visits to Japan to maintain and develop business contacts as well as visit friends, keep up to date with developments in Japanese culture and language, and hike the Japanese wilderness.
