Having graduated with an MA in Interpreting and Translation Studies from Leeds University in 2003, I started my career with an in-house post as a simultaneous interpreter in a market research company in Lille specializing in medical/pharmaceutical studies. I then went on to hold an in-house post as senior translator at thebigword, a language service provider in Leeds, in which I further developed my specialism in pharmaceutical/medical translation and also gained experience of translating other text types: marketing copy, official EU texts (often CJEU), French texts used by HMRC. Since embarking on my freelance career in 2008, I have continued to translate medical texts, in particular for a leading French biomedical research institute and a global pharmaceutical company specializing in neuroscience. I have also developed other interests, translating content for a Luxembourg wine magazine, papers for a French political think tank and texts about agricultural equipment, to name just a few examples.
