Mrs Anna Cook MITI
I am a Swindon-based freelance translator, interpreter, and publishing editor; originally from Poland, I came to live and work in the UK in 2007. My qualifications include an MA in English Philology and a postgraduate studies diploma in translation (Poland). I am a qualified ITI translator and hold the ISO 17100:2015 Qualified status.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to Continuing Professional Development in a variety of ways, one of which is networking with other linguists, especially as a member of the ITI Polish Network. I attend conferences, webinars and training courses to improve my linguistic, technical and subject knowledge.
My specialist working areas are:
- Medicine, health and social care
- Psychology
- Christianity.
Any healthcare settings, including mental health, are where I most enjoy operating as an interpreter. The same is true for remote interpreting (over the phone or various video platforms) and translations, the latter including Christianity-related texts. My experience involves proofreading and editing non-fiction books and e-books, which I self-publish for the author, as well as a few years of being an ESOL teacher when I lived in Poland.
What you can expect from our cooperation is excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, impartiality, realistic deadlines and flexibility.
