I've been a freelance technical translator since 1981, having worked mainly in mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering. My work has covered a very wide range of technologies, and so I have built up an extensive knowledge base that enables me to work confidently in highly specialised technical subjects.
With this solid background in translating engineering texts, for some years now my work has focussed-in on my deep interest in environmental issues and the 'green -tech' sector. So I now specialise in environmental technologies, such as renewable energy (solar, wind, marine, fuel cells/hydrogen, biomass), pollution monitoring and control, recycling, waste management, clean transport - in fact, any of the fields offering the nuts-and-bolts technical solutions to environmental problems.
This is a rapidly evolving, highly innovative and highly technical sector, and I work constantly to keep myself up to date and expand my knowledge in 'green-tech' engineering. My focus on cutting-edge technical innovation in 'green-tech' has naturally led me to work very extensively in patent translation in a wide range of environmental subjects (German into English).
