I developed a passion for languages from my early years, which led me to complete a first degree in Translation in Mexico. Following a move to the UK, I completed an MA in Translation in this country, and also doctoral studies on the translation of metaphors.
I have been working as a freelance translator for over 20 years, mainly for one Mexican translation agency, translating documents for market research agencies, hotels, banks, law firms, and international organizations. We currently translate articles of a wide range of topics into Spanish for The New York Times Syndicate, following their style guide and conducting all necessary research to ensure that the articles meet their standards and reflect cultural differences in the Spanish-speaking market. My tasks include translating documents that require expertise in financial, legal and political topics, and uploading them in the platform selected by the client, using CAT tools as applicable.
