ITI Awards 2026: John Sykes Memorial Prize for Excellence
The Association of Translation Companies (ATC) has been honoured with the prestigious John Sykes Memorial Prize for Excellence in 2026.
The John Sykes Memorial Prize for Excellence recognises an outstanding contribution to the world of translation or interpreting over a long period. The winner is selected by the current and past two chairs of ITI (Fiona Gray, Nicki Bone, and Paul Appleyard).
ATC, which is also marking its 50th anniversary this year, is a trade association representing the interests of language service companies in the UK and internationally. It is the leading voice for companies operating in the UK’s language services industry.
ATC Chief Executive Officer, Raisa McNab, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive the John Sykes Memorial Prize for Excellence. Over the years, we have built a relationship between our two associations based on constructive dialogue, and our collaboration has extended from knowledge exchange to advocacy on themes where our objectives converge. On behalf of the ATC community, I want to thank the ITI’s Chairs past and present for what is a truly meaningful award.”
Fiona Gray added: "This award recognises the ATC’s ongoing hard work on behalf of and in support of language service companies and the wider language services industry, including its recent focus on commercial collaborations and other activities to promote the value of language services, language skills and translation and interpreting as professions to the business community and beyond."
The presentation was made during ITI's 40th Anniversary Dinner held on 1 July in Milton Keynes.
ITI is proud to collaborate closely with the ATC, and there is no better time to celebrate the organisation's achievements than in its 50th anniversary year.
