ITI member joins FIT's Translatio Standing Committee

FIT is the International Federation of Translators, and its goal is to promote professionalism in the disciplines it represents. It seeks constantly to improve conditions for the profession in all countries and to uphold translators’ rights and freedom of expression.

The Standing Committee produces FIT’s quarterly online newsletter, Translatio, which is a key channel of communication between FIT, its member associations and other interested parties. It is published once quarterly in English, French and Spanish.

For the past few years, Philippa has been a member of the Translatio editorial team, translating and editing articles each quarter.

FIT periodically seeks nominations for its Standing Committees and Task Forces from its member associations worldwide, which includes ITI. Philippa was keen to take a more active role in maintaining Translatio’s high editorial standards and contribute to the important work of producing a regular newsletter through which FIT member associations can tell their own story and gain visibility.

We are pleased to announce that our nomination was accepted and Philippa will now join the Translatio Standing Committee.

Congratulations Philippa!

FIT president’s message: stronger together

In his first president’s message Guillaume Deneufbourg reflects on the federation's recent advocacy work in 2025 and the importance of international solidarity amongst translators and interpreters.

He discusses FIT's response to government attempts to replace human translators with AI tools and calls on member associations to share their experiences to strengthen collective action against such threats to the profession.
