Bugs be gone! Beyond obvious faux-amis, there are so many insidious ways that French can creep into our English texts in translation. These “bad bugs” must be spotted… and squashed before they can cause any more harm!
This training is suitable for translators at all levels and will help you identify the most common errors in French-to-English translation, starting with tricky words and expanding out to awkward wording and incorrect usage. We will look at a variety of text types and genres along the way.
By the end of this 3-hour workshop, you will have a complete list of common errors to look out for—and, just as importantly, you’ll know how to eradicate them so you can hand in clean, error-free texts that make you proud.
