Most professionally translated texts have some sort of promotional component to them—whether the intent is to sell a product or simply to get readers on board with an idea.
Yet as translators we often lack the tools and strategies to produce truly great copy that will win over our clients and end readers. And if we want to learn, we would do well to take our cues from professional copywriters!
This 3-hour workshop for all into-English translators introduces you to key concepts of promotional translation, from skopos theory to transcreation, before moving on to modern principles of copywriting and persuasion.
Throughout the training, you’ll be putting the ideas into practice with engaging examples drawn from a variety of sources.
