Jason Shilcock

Jason is incredibly passionate about community renewable energy and raising awareness about the dual climate and nature emergency and works as both a self-employed professional offering translation and editing services to European companies (with the strictest environmental credentials) and a carbon literacy and biodiversity/eco awareness trainer for a sustainable development charity. He also recently co-authored Community Energy Wales’s latest state of the sector report.

He lived in Germany and Spain for over a decade and a half, but now calls Wales his home. His passion for all things sustainable has led him to volunteer at the local Benthyg (Library of Things) and host the local monthly PeoplePlanetPint event in his adopted hometown.

Kate Stansfield

Kate Stansfield is a linguist offering translation and revision from French and Spanish into English, as well as proofreading, copy-editing, and project management services. She has been freelancing from her home county of Yorkshire for the past 13 years and, for the last four, has been focused on how she can use her language skills to help create a better world for her children and future generations to inherit.

Marjolein Thickett

Marjolein is a translator and editor living in the Lake District. She translates from Dutch, German and Russian into English and offers proofreading, and copywriting services. After more than a decade in the corporate world, Marjolein set up her own freelance translation business in 2020 - The Native Crowd. She works with a mix of direct clients and agents and consciously chooses who to work with and which projects to accept based on their green credentials. Marjolein specialises in sustainability and sports and works with both local and international businesses. Marjolein received the ITI CPD award in 2023.

Yuno Dinnie

Yuno Dinnie MITI has been translating Japanese from and into English for over 30 years, specialising in the sustainability fields for around 10 years, and was recently awarded a Carbon Literacy certificate. She lives in Dundee, Scotland, where she tends her allotment and pursues her home decarbonisation project. Yuno will be the chair of this panel discussion.
