Time:  Walk 1 at 1:30pm & walk 2 at 3pm
Venue: Water of Leith walkway
Distance: 3 miles

Edinburgh’s river is mostly hidden from sight, a corridor of green and peace right in the heart of the city. Our walk will take in a little less than 3 miles of the the Water of Leith walkway, starting at Roseburn and finishing at Canonmills (or vice versa).

Walk 1 map and directions

Walk 2 map and directions

The Walkway is either asphalted or gravel throughout and not muddy unless after very heavy rain. Flat shoes (trainers adequate) are advised due to possible slippery surfaces. There are a few flights of steps to ascend or descend, but otherwise the walk is almost flat. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather, always remembering that Scottish weather can change rapidly! The walk is suitable for most abilities and we will ensure a leisurely pace.

There are café options, especially at Canonmills (several to choose from) or others on the way between Roseburn and Canonmills at Stockbridge. There are public toilets in Stockbridge Library, but no others along the route.
